The Roulette Beginners Guide
Many first-time-gamblers tend to find the rules of roulette almost as difficult as playing craps or poker. But with the help of our guide, we’re going to make sure that you won’t experience confusion when it’s time for you to try out roulette.
The Table’s Minimum Bet - Always ask the dealer what the minimum bet is for his table before buying chips. The minimum bet varies from one table to another so make sure that you’re not about to play at a table specially designated for the high-rollers. Sorry but right now, that’s just not in your league yet!
Any outside bet or any combination of inside bets must equal the minimum bet of the table.
The Wheel Type - Always check if the wheel being used is American or European. Always go for the latter since it gives players a better edge.
Chips - Players are always required to purchase their own set of chips from the dealer prior to playing. Your chips will always be in a shade different from the rest being used by other players. That way, the system of payment and collection of debts and winnings can be more efficient.
Betting Time - The dealer will indicate when you can and can’t bet. When you make a bet, you must play your chips in the area accorded to the bet you made. If there’s no space anymore, simply place your chips on top of the chips of other players.
Inside Bets - An inside bet wins if the number/s selected by the player matches the number on the slot where the ball fell in.
Outside Bets - Groups of numbers are pre-selected and a player can choose any of these groups of numbers. If the ball lands on a number that belongs to any of the groups you’ve chosen, your outside bet wins!
Capping Bets - Don’t try to add more chips to your bet if it turns out you’ve won. You might get eliminated from the game!
Wait for the Sign - The roulette gambling dealer will tell the players when it’s okay for them to collect their winnings.
Tipping - You don’t need to give dealers a huge tip; a small one would do as well in showing you appreciated their efforts.
